To expand capacity for coronavirus patients, the team management of the University Clinical Center Tuzla has decided that the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases became second COVID hospital. A newly adapted facility was ready to meet the needs of COVID-19 patients at the beginning of November.
Before that the Clinic’s facilities were faced with the task of adapting and reorganizing. The coronavirus high-risk “red zones”, “green zones” and “the prep zones” for healthcare staff were defined.
Following recent changes, the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases also needed supplemental amount of medical oxygen to maintain normal work flow. To increase the capacity of existing oxygen capacity an additional 6- ton capacity tank of medical oxygen and a larger flow capacity pipeline system have been installed. Connecting and filling the tank will take place during the next seven days. Additional tank installation will provide the adequate provision of medical oxygen, and make the difference for the management and treatment of patients with COVID-19.
