The University Clinical Center Tuzla has received a valuable donation consisted of Real Time PCR-QPRC System-LAPTOP- Applied Biosystems Quant Studio 5, and a significant amount of protective medical equipment. The procurement of the equipment worth 164.000 BAM was funded by the European Union as part of its programme of assistance to BiH in the fight against coronaviruse (COVID-19), implemented by UNDP BiH.
Director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla Prof. Dr. Vahid Jusufović thanked donors for this very important donation, which will improve working conditions and ensure additional security measures in workflow. “This is a valuable donation for Clinical Center Tuzla. We already have one available device, but with the donated device we will have backup in the case one of the PCR devices fails.Today we have got modern laboratory device from a well- known manufacturer and company Thermo Fisher Scientific. This donation came at the right time because there is evident increase in usage of personal protective equipment due to surge of hospitalized patients. ” said on this occasion Prof. Dr. Jusufović.
The Minister of Health of the Tuzla Canton Dr. Dajana Čolić told the press media few words about the donation and its importance for the entire Tuzla Canton. She expressed her deep gratitude to the European Union for they always recognized the need and showed readiness to help on several critical occasions. So far the Europian Union has donated to the Tuzla Canton medical and personal protective equipment worth more than 1 million BAM.
In addition to the above mentioned equipment, a certain amount of personal protective and medical equipment was handed over to the Public Health Institute of the Tuzla Canton.
