During the past seven days, the UKC Tuzla bone marrow transplant team successfully performed two autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantations in a patient aged 67 suffering from multiple myeloma, and in a patient aged 21 suffering from Non- Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“The transplantation procedures are done without complications, and both patients doing well with unevetful postoperative course.” said Ass. Prof. Aida Ćustović, a leader of the transplant team.
So far, the team for bone marrow transplantation from the UKC Tuzla Clinic of Oncology, Hematology and Radiotherapy has successully carried out a total of 106 HSC transplantations- 90 autologous and 16 allogeneic HSCT in the treatment of hematological, non- hematological, malignant and non- malignant disorders and other congenital and acquired diseases.
