The U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Maureen E. Cormack, with her closest associates, was in a protocolar visit to the University Clinical Center Tuzla. The director of the UKC Tuzla Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić, President of UKC Tuzla Board of directors Ass. Prof. Munevera Bećarević, Medical director Prof. Dr. Fahrija Skokić and the representatives of the most prominent clinics received our esteemed guests.
Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić expressed his deep gratitude for the Ambassador’s interest for Clinical Center Tuzla, and in a short meeting introduced our guests with the organizational structure, opportunities and major projects to be implemented in our hospital.
“ This is my first visit to one of the health institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since I was working as a diplomat during the 90’s in Poland, I’m familiar with challenges encountering health care system in the countries in transition, and that’s why I’m sure that the progress made by the UKC Tuzla means a lot for your citizens.” said H.E. Maureen Cormack. She also showed an interest in the basic functions of health financing system and development in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for our hospital strategies to combat corruption.
After the meeting, the Ambassador visited the UKC Tuzla Clinic for Cardiovascular Diseases.
