Professor Dr. Šekib Umihanić, director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla, hosted a productive working meeting with delegates from the International Solidarity Forum – EMMAUS.
The meeting discussion centered on advancing collaborative efforts to deliver healthcare assistance to the Emmaus Potočari clinic in Srebrenica. Under this partnership, specialists from the University Clinical Center Tuzla extend pro bono consultations and specialized examinations to residents from Srebrenica, Bratunac, Vlasenica, and Zvornik regions.
The Emmaus clinic features state-of-the-art facilities for dental, gynecological, and family medicine practices, staffed by a general practitioner and a nurse. Specialized examinations are conducted in collaboration with healthcare institutions in the Tuzla Canton region, ensuring coordinated and comprehensive health care.
In the upcoming period, further investments are planned with the objective of providing enhanced healthcare support to the population in the aforementioned areas.
During discussions with representatives of the Emmaus organization, Professor Dr. Umihanić, director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla, underscored the unwavering commitment to supporting the organization and its clinic. He highlighted his extensive involvement as a long-standing volunteer, offering consultations in otolaryngology at the clinic. Additionally, he expressed the collective willingness of himself and other doctors from Clinical Center Tuzla to continue providing their services to support the returnees in the Podrinje region in the upcoming period.
