Works on thermal insulation upgrading of the UKC Tuzla oldest facility “Gradina” will start soon. This project is the result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed today by the Goverment of Tuzla Canton, the Federal Ministry of Spatial Planning and University Clinical Center Tuzla. The implementation of this 1.6 million BAM project will result in significant energy savings, and a brand new and beautiful appearance of the UKC Tuzla surgical facility ”Gradina”.
The proposed project plan includes demolition and replacement of all existing 600 doors and windows, the improvement of the thermal insulation properties of the roof and a new thermal-insulating facade. All works will be funded from the loan obtained by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the Energy Efficiency Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“With this, we put an end to lenghty and time- consuming licensing procedure. However, this is only our first phase. In the future, through a various projects, we will try to obtain funds for the replacement of inefficient light bulbs with energy efficient and modern LED lighting, as well as to carry out the replacement of radiators in Clinical Center Tuzla.” says Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić, director of the UKC Tuzla.
“ The Government is fully aware of the importance and role of Clinical Center Tuzla, and in relation to that, we have supported its modernization in many ways. For the following year, the Goverment redirected funds of the Health Insurance Institute toward better positioning of the UKC Tuzla, the realization of the UKC Tuzla project of Emergency Centre, as well as for employee assistance program for young physicians.” says Prime Minister Bego Gutić.
