The Congress of Law Graduates with International Participation was held in Varaždin, featuring 17 distinguished invited speakers and attracting over 40 participants from 26 healthcare institutions across Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The scientific program of the congress was prepared according to the most important topics in the field of criminal liability, the rights of workers and patients to health care, as well as ethical and legal norms in the process of transplantation medicine, the legislative framework of biomedically assisted reproduction, the rights of pregnant women to cesarean section, as well as topics related to medical documentation.
Employees of the Legal Affairs Sector and the Organization and Quality Improvement Sector of the University Clinical Center Tuzla also actively participated in the 15th Congress of Healthcare Law Graduates.
The Head of the Legal Affairs Sector of the University Clinical Center Tuzla, Armin Hurić, LL. M, presented a paper on the topic “Legal (ethical) challenges in the transplantation process: e lege lata and de lege ferenda, with a review of solutions in the Republic of Croatia. Ervin Mujkić, LL. M, presented a paper on the topic “The rights of pregnant women to give birth by cesarean section”, while Ajla Crnkić, LL.M, spoke on the topic “Legislative framework of biomedically assisted fertilization in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Amra Mujkić, law graduated, spoke on the topic “Properly maintained medical documentation”. “Medical treatment without the patient’s consent” was the topic covered by Anesa Jaganjac, LL.M, and Admira Nožinović, law graduated.
Participants unanimously assessed the congress as highly successful. During the closing session, several proposals were presented to address existing challenges and clarify uncertainties, which will be forwarded to the relevant ministry for consideration and resolution.
