The Clinic for Children’s Diseases of the University Clinical Center Tuzla had the pleasure of hosting cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Serkan Serçici from Turkiye, who stayed at this institution together with his expert team. The aforementioned visit provided an opportunity to exchange professional experiences and further improve cooperation between the University Clinical Center Tuzla and international medical centers.
During the visit, Dr. Serkan Serçici and his team were given a comprehensive overview of the work plan and procedures at the Clinic for Children’s Diseases, with a particular focus on the Department of Cardiology. Since 1995, this department has been successfully conducting neonatal screening for the early detection of congenital heart anomalies in children.
Following an initial exchange of information, Dr. Serçici, together with the team of cardiologists from the University Clinical Center Tuzla, performed a cardiac ultrasound examination on a patient with a complex congenital anomaly. Due to the severity of the condition, the patient will require specialized treatment abroad.
