With the support of donors and socially responsible companies, the University Clinical Center Tuzla has successfully completed the reconstruction and adaptation of the Intensive Care Unit within the Surgical Block, as well as the shared facilities of the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation.
As part of these improvements, the electric entrance doors were replaced, new flooring was installed throughout the department, and both new and existing roller shutters were installed and repaired. Additionally, all therapy and consumables cabinets were replaced, and the entire Intensive Care Unit was repainted. Further enhancements include the procurement of new shelving and storage units, as well as new chairs and therapy trolleys to improve efficiency and patient care.
In addition to the renovation of the Intensive Care Unit, the offices of the head nurse and the clinic’s technical secretary were also reconstructed. Furthermore, the meeting room was upgraded with new chairs, closets, and strip curtains, enhancing its functionality and comfort for both work and educational activities.
The total cost of these improvements amounted to 55,000 KM.
According to the Head of the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Prof. Dr. Jasmina Smajić, the adaptation of these spaces has significantly improved both hygienic and functional conditions, contributing to enhanced patient care, comfort, and safety. Additionally, the upgraded working environment for medical staff will enable more efficient and effective daily patient care.
Prof. Dr. Smajić also expressed deep gratitude to all donors who recognized the importance of improving both patient conditions at the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation and the working conditions of healthcare professionals. “Their support has not only elevated the quality of healthcare but has also demonstrated how solidarity and goodwill can drive meaningful, positive change,” she stated.
