The 23rd Scientific Meeting of Pediatricians in the area of the North East Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on Saturday, 26 March, 2016,at the Congress Hall of the Hotel Tuzla. The organizers of this scientific event were the journal of University Clinical Center Tuzla “Pedijatrija Danas” and the UKC Tuzla Clinic for Children’s Diseases.The main theme of this one- day meeting was “Pediatrics in Family Medicine” which included a variety of topics in the field of pediatrics presented by the esteemed lecturers and experts from Zagreb, Novi Sad and Tuzla.
In the first lecture Prof. Dr. Alemka Jaklin Kekez from the Polyclinic for Children’s Diseases “Helena ” Zagreb talked about “The role of ultrasound in chronic liver diseases in children”.
On the theme” The diagnosis and treatment of hydatid cysts of the liver” talked Dr. Selma Terzić from the UKC Tuzla Clinic for Children’s Diseases.
” Modern approach to imaging methods in the diagnosis of urinary tract infection in children” was a theme delivered by Prof. Dr Andrea Cvitković Roić from the Polyclinic for Children’s Diseases “Helena ” Zagreb.
Primarius Dr. Nedima Atić, MSci., from the UKC Tuzla Clinic for Children’s Diseases presented a lecture entitled ” Diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infectious in children”.
Ass. Prof. Jovan Lovrenski from the Institute for health Protection of Children and Youth Vojvodina, Novi Sad , gave an interesting lecture on “Pulmonary diseases in children- ultrasound as an equal diagnostic tool”.
The last lecture of the 23rd scientific meeting of pediatricians ” Chest wall deformities in children” was presented by Ass. Prof. Edin Husarić from the UKC Tuzla Clinic for Children’s Diseases.
The aim of these meetings is to bring together doctors regardless of their specialty but who are engaged in the treatment of children to collaborate and to exchange valuable knowledge and experience in their work, thus contributing to a better understanding of pediatric disorders”, said Academician Prof. Dr. Husref Tahirović and invited all attendees to 24th scientific meeting to be held in October, 2016.
