After a recent visit to the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, delegates of the Collegium of the House of Peoples of the Federation BiH, Lidija Bradara, Chair of the House of Peoples, Jasenko Tufekčić, Vice- Chairman of the House of Peoples, and the presidents of the Clubs of Bosniaks and Serbs, Osman Ćatić and Slaviša Šućur paid a visit to the University Clinical Center Tuzla. The reasons for the visit were preparatory activities of the delegates for the upcoming thematic session of the House of peoples of the Parliament of the Federation BiH on the state of healthcare.The emphasis of this informative tour is to visit all healthcare institutions founded by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić with his associates medical director Prof. Dr. Fahrija Skokić, head of the Clinic for Cardiovascular Diseases Dr. Elmir Jahić and director of Sector for financial affairs Ms. Sabina Tanović informed our guests that the University Clinical Center Tuzla in addition to being a top- performing hospital in organ transplantation and cardiac surgery also provides healthcare services to half a million people in Tuzla region.
During the meeting with delegates the UKC Tuzla management team referred the main problems to the shortage of funds and reduced financial liquidity, which are common problems to all public health institutions in the Federation of BiH. The delegates of the Collegium of the House of Peoples pointed out that the forthcoming session on the state of healthcare should result in concrete and effective conclusions intended to meet those problems.
