The 4th World Congress on Vascular Access WoCoVA 2016, which was held on 22-24 June in Lisbon , Portugal, gathered a large number of vascular access professionals from all disciplines from countries around the world ( Australia, the US, Canada, china, Japan, Iraq, india, Brazil, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Sweden, germanny, Switzerland, Czech Republic etc.).
The team of doctors from the University Clinical Center Tuzla. Dr. Mirza Atić, Dr. Nedima Atić and Dr. Amila Jašarević actively participated WoCoVa 2016 with two presentations “The use of ultrasound in determing the position of central venosus catheter for hemodialysis – flow signal”-authors Atić, Tulumović, Brkić, Jašarević, Mešić, Atić N, Alečkovic-Halilović M and “Tunneled central venosus catheter replacement trought the existing tunel without using a guide-wire method: Rewiev (Video)with case series”- authors Atić M, Tulumović, Jašarević , Mešić, Atić, Hodžić, Habul V, Trojak and Dugonjić.The Congress covered an impressive 70 invited lectures, round tables and 6 sessions.
Our specialists used an opportunity of this medical event to show a video presentation of a new methods in ultrasound diagnosis of the position of central venous catheter. The special attention was given to this presentation, that was a surprise for all participants in the session, and that gave a whole new view of the diagnostic possibilities. In an interesting discussion opened by the Chairmen of the session it was proposed to make comparative testing of electrocardiographic and x-ray as currently the most preferred methods and ultrasound method of the introduction of catheter. This unique multidisciplinary event also covered a film festival of video presentations about innovative and new vascular access technologies, and our specialists are invited to apply the next congress with a new series of videos.
