Yesterday, in the presence of numerous guests, employees and media representatives, the University Clinical Center Tuzla celebrated the completion of the Energy Efficiency Project at Gradina building.
Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized the importance of energy efficiency, and in order to achieve economic viability of the energy efficiency projects has joined the financing of the project of Energy efficiency BiH (BEEP). Financing agreement worth 32 million dollars was signed, out of which 19.23 million dollars were allocated to the Federation of BiH. Federal Ministry of Physical Planning, through Implementation unit, is responsible for the preparation and coordination, management and implementation of the Project in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The University Clinical Center Tuzla is one of 80 public facilities being included in the project.
“After a detailed energy audits, technical monitoring and control, the facility Gradina got the new facade insulation of about 4.800 m2. All 607 damaged openings, that had a high coefficient of heat loss are replaced. Also, it was implemented the system of automatic regulation of energy consumption which will help in a financial cost savings.” explained project manager “Energy Efficiency in BiH” for Federation of BiH Mustafa Čopelj.
The Ministar of Health Bahrudin Hadžiefendić addressed the audience on behalf of the Government of the Tuzla Canton, which gave a significant support to Clinical Center Tuzla in the preparation and implementation of this project. ” Thanks to a BEEP project we have got greatly improved working condition for medical staff, and consequently faster recovery of patients. The realization of adaptation works cost one million and thirty-seven thousand KM including VAT. All the works are carried out according to the standards required by the European Bank, and performed by two local companies within four months period.”
According to the director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić, a multiple benefits are achieved. Implementation of the project will result in a reduction of total energy consumption, increase the level of comfort in the facility, as well as overall improvement in the appearance of our living environment. In addition to improved comfort and working condition, we are expecting a significant financial savings during the heating season.
“I have to mention that the UKC Tuzla, in a line with the works performed within this project, carried out adaptation of the interior of clinics,departments and operating rooms with its own resources and funds. Thus, we have provided modern working conditions for our employees and more accessible and efficient health care for our citizens, which is our primary commitment.” says Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić.
