A roundtable discussion dedicated to cooperation between associations of people with disabilities with the entity agencies for certification and accreditation of quality in health care AKAZ from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and ASKVA from Republika Srpska was held yesterday in the amphitheater of the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases.
The participants of the meeting had an opportunity to listen about a new brochure on attitudes of health care professionals toward persons with disabilities. This brochure is a product of joint work of 65 different associations of people with disabilities, which work together in a coalition within MyRight- Empowers people with disabilities program. The aim of this brochure is to overcome the problems in communication between health professionals and people with disabilities, as well as to raise awareness in society about persons with disabilities and their rights.
Maida Nuhić, Msci, head of Sector for quality improvement in Clinical Center Tuzla gave a presentation on implementing hospital accreditation standards regarding to the rights of people with disabilities. During the roundtable, the participants were addressed by the directors of the Agency for Quality and Accreditation of the FB&H and RS, and representatives on non-governmental organization MyRight.
