Primarius Dr. Neda Striber, a specialist in ophthalmology from the Clinic for Children’s Diseases Zagreb paid a visit to the University Clinical Center Tuzla during the weekend. Ass. Prof. Meliha Halilbašić, head of the Department for Pediatric Ophthalmology said that the aim of Dr. Striber’s visit is developing and updating of operating procedures in the management of strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology. ” Our Clinic has undergone changes within two generations of health care professionals, and we felt the need to upgrade our knowledge, as well as to adopt new strabismus surgical methods” said Dr. Halilbašić, who together with Dr Stribers performed ophthtalmic examinations in over twenty children and carried out three surgeries.
During her stay, Dr Striber with the help of our doctors and typhlologists, had conducted and set indications for another 10 surgeries to be done in the future.
A team of doctors and health professionals who carried out the aforementioned surgeries together with Dr Striber consisted of Ass. Prof. Meliha halilbašić, Dr Mersiha Sinanović, Dr Damir Pištoljević, anaesthetist, Ismar Ibrahimović, anaesthetic technician, Zumbra Brkić and Edin Altumbabić, scrub technicians.
