A team of doctors from Orthopaedic Hospital Valdotra, Slovenia visited the Clinic of Orthopedy and Trauma, University Clinical Center Tuzla. During the visit, together with our team of orthopedic surgeons they performed three surgeries on patients with the shoulder joint and tendon injuries.
On the occasion Dr Adnan Kešetović said that they performed a minimally invasive endoscopic surgery that uses a tiny camera and small incisions through the skin to solve the problem of shoulder pain and motion limitation conditions with different etiologies. Dr Kešetović also said that the main benefits of this procedure are the shorter operative duration, shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery, as well as a faster return to normal daily activities.
The director of Orthopaedic Hospital Valdotra , Dr Radoslav Marčan expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation with the University Clinical Center Tuzla. In practice, the Agreement on the professional cooperation that was signed last year has enable the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two institutions, and as a result the University Clinical Center Tuzla developed a new surgical procedure of shoulder arthroscopy.
The costs of this procedure will cover Health Insurance Institute of the Federation of BiH.
