Purple Day was founded in 2008, by nine- year- old girl Cassidy Megan from Canada. Motivated by her own struggles with epilepsy, Casidy started Purple Day in an effort to get people talking about the condition, basic symptoms and the ways of treatment. She named the day after the internationally recognized color of epilepsy, purple or lavander, and people are encouraged to wear a purple- colored item of clothing on March 26 to inform those with seizures that they are not alone.
To celebrate this year, the UKC Clinic of Neurology planned to host an event within our local community and organize a public action on 26 March 2017 in Bingo City Center, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
