The opening ceremony of the Second Symposium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ophthalmologists with international participation was held today. The organizer of the Symposium is the University Clinical Center Tuzla, Clinic for Eye Diseases, under the auspices of the Tuzla Canton Government.
The main theme of this year’s Symposium is the retina and vitreoretinal surgery, and invited lecturers are eminent experts from Turkey, Switzerland, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On the occasion, the president of the organizing committee of the Symposium Prof. Dr. Vahid Jusufović, head of the Clinic for Eye Diseases said that this medical event will provide for quality presentations and seriuos analysis through scientific works. This Symposium will also serve as a testimony that ophthalmology in Bosnia and Herzegovina is at the most advanced level.
“Our plan for this Symposium is to become an annual gathering tradition of colleagues with new topics to be able to follow global trends in ophthalmology. As part of this year’s Symposium program we have included plenary lectures, spoken presentations and WET LAB, or workshop aimed for residents to practice invasive procedures on animal eyes. Also we have included the promotion of textbook on OCT angiography in clinical practice.” said Prof. Dr. Jusufović.
Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić, director of University Clinical Center Tuzla also addressed and welcomed the guests at the opening ceremony.
The Second Symposium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ophthalmologists with international participation was officially declared open by the Minister of Health of the Tuzla Canton, who wished the participants successful work, useful and interesting discussions and finally to draw a conclusions that will help the further development of ophthalmology in our hospital.
