On Friday, to celebrate World Immunization Week, the Association of the Medical Faculty Students in Bosnia and Herzegovina, local committee Tuzla (BoHeMSA LC Tuzla) launched a new project “Health and Vaccination” by delivering lectures on Medical faculty, University of Tuzla. The project will be for the first time implemented this year in the period 23 to 29 April, 2018.
As it was reported by the Association, there has been an increasing number of the unvaccinated children due to poor parenteral education about the importance of childhood vaccination and immunization.The project activities will include a number of different activities, competitions for high school students, public forums, a citizen survey, an audio and video recordings, street actions and community- centered education on the importance of immunization.
The project has started with professional lectures delivered by distinguished professors from Medical faculty, University Clinical Center Tuzla and Public Health Institute of Tuzla Canton in the field of immunology, infectology, microbiology, pediatrics and epidemiology for all enrolled medical students. The aim was to provide for students an in- depth understanding on vaccination process, their advantages and disadvantages, so that medical students can adequately cope with parents’ attitudes and concerns towards childhood vaccinations. The lecturers were Prof. Dr. Fahrija Skokić, Prof. Dr. Sead Ahmetagić, Prof. Dr. Fatima Numanović, Prof.Dr. Nijaz Tihić and Dr. Blaško Topalović MSci. The Tuzla Canton Medical Chamber scored the participants with appropriate credits.
