The solemn opening ceremony of the 7th Congress of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina with international participation took place last night in the Hotel Mellain.
The president of the Association of Physiatrists of the Federation BiH and the president of the organizing committee Prof. Dr. Mirsad Muftić in his welcome remarks announced scientific program of the Congress with 27 plenary lecturing, 25 oral presentations and 48 poster presentations. As he said this Congress attracts 185 doctors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Monte Negro, Macedonia, Slovenia, Italy, France and the USA. Prof. Muftić ended his welcome speech accentuating that the aim of the organizer was to strengthen region cooperation between the Associations of Physiatrists, and their joint participation at the European Congress for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation that was planned for the year 2020.
The keynote speakers of the Congress also were the president of Board of the Association of Physiatrists of Republika Srpska Ass. Prof. Tatjana Nožica Radulović, the president of the Association of Physiatrists of Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr. Milica Lazović and medical director of Clinical Center Tuzla Prof. Dr. Fahrija Skokić.
Minister of health of the Tuzla Canton Dr. Bahrudin Hadžiefendić formally declared the Congress open.
The focus of the first day of the Congress were topics related to pediatric rehabilitation throughout four sessions with ten plenary lecturing, eight oral presentations and three sponsorship lecturing.
