In 2018, European HIV and Hepatitis Testing Week will take place 23- 30 November in 53 European countries. The activities of European Testing Week are in line with the global set of goals 90-90-90 by the United Nation’s program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). The idea is that by 2020, 90% of people who are HIV infected will be diagnosed, 90% of people who are diagnosed will be on antiretroviral treatment, and 90% of those who receive antiretrovirals will be virally suppressed.
The University Clinical Center Tuzla, Counseling Center for voluntary, confidential and free testing for HIV and Hepatitis C virus is joining to this activities by organizing HIV and AIDS counseling and testing in the period 23- 30 November from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To join the activities of the week the Educational Center of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases will host a professional lecturing on the theme ” HIV/AIDS infection as a chronic disease” on 29 November at 12:00 noon.
On the occasion of World AIDS Day on 1 December 2018, Counseling Center for voluntary, confidential and free testing for HIV and Hepatitis C virus of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases will be traditionally opened 24 hours for anonymous HIV/AIDS and hepatitis testing free of charge. In addition to the day, the employees of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases together with the members of the Students’ Association “BOHEMSA” are organizing public education on HIV infections, sexually transmitted infections, protection and importance of testing, as well as distribution of HIV/AIDS teaching materials.
