The president of the scientific congress board Prof. Dr. Enisa Mešić said that the aim of the Congress organizer is to evaluate prevailing conditions for the effective sustainability of the transplant program in B&H, and to arouse the general public in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the importance of organ transplantation and donation.
On the occasion, the president of the Association of Nephrology, Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation in Bosnia and Herzegovina Prof. Dr. Halima Resić said that this year will be 20 years of a successful transplant program in the University Clinical Center Tuzla, and that’s one of key reasons for the 5th Congress on Nephrology in B&H to be held in Tuzla. She also added that out of 386 kidney transplant surgeries in our country, 200 were performed in Tuzla, but that this number needs to be increased. Congress as the biggest education event in this medical area is another way to address issues pertaining to the kidney transplant program.
