Last week, Prof. Dr. Enes Kanlić, director of Orthopaedy Level 1 Trauma Center, Chandler Regional, Arizona, the US and a member of Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina was in a professional visit to the Clinic for Orthopaedy and Trauma, University Clinical Center Tuzla.
During the stay Prof. Dr. Kanlić together with the team of orthopedic surgeons performed a series of successful operations. “I helped my colleagues to operate a relatively rare and complicated case of fracture and dislocation of the hip. Also, we have done two cases of the proximal part of the tibiae and fibula fractures. Those were unstable fractures, difficult for reconstruction that could have been followed by complications and poor outcome. I also participated in the planning of the treatment of a non- healing femur fracture in a girl who has already undergone surgery, as well as in decision- making for the treatment of pathological fracture in a bone affected by a malignant tumor.” said Prof. Kanlić and explained that he presented for our surgeons different surgical approaches that allow for more direct and technically challenging reconstructions.
In addition Prof.Dr. Kanlić delivered a guest lecture on pathological trochanteric, wrist and shoulder fractures. For his colleagues in Tuzla, he donated three recent editions of the book “Rockwood and Green FRACTURE”, and all issues of “Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma (JOT)” and Journal of American Academy of Orhopaedic Surgeons (JAAOS) for the year 2019.
