The continuation of the project building the house for parents of children suffering from cancer next to the Clinic for Children’s Diseases, University Clinical Center Tuzla that was delayed due to the Covid pandemic was a main topic during the yesterday’s meeting between the management of the University Clinical Center Tuzla and representatives of the Society Heart for Children.
The investors of the Society Heart for Children Suffering from Cancer gave information that the first tranche of funds from the donor supporting the project is received. They also said that the main project documentation is being prepared and the process of obtaining a building permit is in progress. The project plan of work is organized so that the everyday work processes with patients within the Clinical Center Tuzla can proceed uninterrupted. The president of the Society Fikret Kubat announced that the works on the Parent’s House facility are scheduled to start during the next month with the finish date by the next year.
On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Vahid Jusufović, director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla expressed his satisfaction with the project activities, and introduced our guests with the expansion plans within the Department for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. He also mentioned the ongoing professional education and development of child care professionals to meet the aim of improvement in quality of care services.
Building the Parent’s House is quite beneficial for the families of little patients as it would reduce the costs of staying and enable some room for parents to stay overnight close to their children.
