In order to improve the healthcare environment the University Clinical Center Tuzla is in a continuous process of procuring new and renewal of medical equipment that had become obsolete.
During the week, the ShockPulse-SE urology dual action lithotripsy system that uses proprietary technology to achieve outstanding efficiency in stone fragmentation was delivered to our hospital. At the same time Clinical Center Tuzla purchased the most latest tables designed for the obstetrics, birthing, gynecological operation and examination.
On that occasion, a press conference was held today. The participants at a press spoke about the importance of renewal of medical equipment, improvement of working conditions and professional staff education.
At a press conference, director of Clinical Center Tuzla Ass. Prof. Alen Kamerić said that adequate working conditions and a comfortable hospital stay for patients have been of great concern to the management team. ” I want to say that I’m proud that the University Clinical Center Tuzla has a clear vision and mission of its development. Last year, we made a plan and set 11 strategic goal. Some of them are that we will strive for healthcare service excellence, expand the range of services to offer other cantons in the FBiH and RS, and we will introduce new diagnostic- therapeutic and surgical procedures. We will make effort to make renewal of medical equipment and continuously work on professional health care staff education and training. In the past period, you have witnessed the realization of several projects, and today we would like to inform the public that the University Clinical Center Tuzla from its own fund procured all mentioned equipment. After 40 years we renewed the Gyn/Ob tables, and also made available lithotripsy procedure for our patients.” said director Kamerić.
In speaking to the press Prof. Dr Šefik Hasukić, head of the Sector for scientific research and education said the actual hospital’s management in the previous period managed to revive three medical procedures that were put out of working process due to lack of equipment or educated staff.
One of participants at the press conference was Ass. Prof. Samed Jagodić, specialist in urology, who spoke about the importance of purchasing the ShockPulse-SE urology device, and the main advantages of lithrotopsy procedure for patients and surgeons.
Head of surgical department of the Clinic for Gyn/O Gyn/Obs Dr. Amer Mandžić said that the maternity ward had been reconstructed several times, but the last reconstruction was done with aim to achieve harmonization with the European standards of care for obstetric and neonatal services. In addition to new gyn/obs tables we have purchased a 4D ultrasound machine as well as five CTG devices for assessment of fetal status during labor. Dr. Mandžić also spoke about future plans for creating more comfortable and caring environments for labour, birth and maternity care.
