The Clinic for Neurosurgery, University Clinical Center Tuzla recently acquired the most advanced neurosurgical miscroscope, demonstrating its commitment to expanding surgical program and improving medical care. Approximately 1200 different surgical procedures were performed at the Clinic in 2023, making it one of the leading neurosurgical practices in the area.
“The Clinic for Neurosurgery, University Clinical Center Tuzla is known for its wide range of neurosurgery services and procedures. Namely, we have performed surgeries on skull tumors, in the field of cerebrovascular neurosurgery, i.e. on the blood vessels of the brain by microsurgical and endovascular methods, and we performed demanded surgeries on the spine, including surgeries on the cervical and lumbar spine. For most of these surgeries using a neurosurgical microscope has become an essential piece of equipment. Acquired surgical miscrosope offers significant advantage and improves the performance of the mentioned procedures in terms of precision and safety. More precisely, the use of a neurosurgical microscope will ensure clear and detailed visualization for neurosurgeons during the surgical procedure,” said the head of the Clinic for Neurosurgery Ass. Prof. Mirza Moranjkić, and emphasized the importance of this acquisition.
Owing to its technical features, the microscope is integrated with current neuronavigation system, which enables faster and safer neuronavigation during surgical performance. Additional integrated monitors allows that the course of surgery can be followed by all health professionals in the operating room, but also doctors on residency outside the operating room.
Through acquisition and utilization of medical equipment and education the management of University Clinical Center Tuzla is committed to provide a supportive work environment for health professionals and the high- quality health services and system for the citizens.
