An international symposium on colon cancer was held in Osijek, bringing together experts to discuss the latest scientific findings and multidisciplinary approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Among the invited speakers was Professor Dr. Ervin Alibegović, Assistant Director for Teaching and Scientific Research at the University Clinical Center Tuzla, specialist in internal medicine, and gastroenterologist.
The symposium aimed to provide evidence-based guidelines while highlighting the significance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing colon cancer, fostering collaboration among medical professionals to improve patient outcomes.
During their presentations, lecturers addressed key questions related to colon cancer, covering current diagnostic methods, available treatment options, and the role of palliative care. A round table discussion was also held, focusing on enhancing diagnostics and treatment approaches, as well as the possibilities for surgical intervention, with the goal of standardizing diagnostic procedures.
Professor Dr. Ervin Alibegović contributed to the symposium with a presentation on “Colon Cancer – Experiences from Bosnia and Herzegovina”, sharing insights from clinical practice and research.
The symposium was primarily intended for family medicine physicians, providing them with an interactive learning experience through knowledge exchange with colleagues. Beyond education, the event also served as a platform for networking, fostering new professional collaborations, and strengthening friendships among participants.
