Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Refik Lendo, visited the University Clinical Center Tuzla today, where he met with Director Prof. Dr. Šekib Umihanić and members of the institution’s management team.
During the visit, Director Prof. Dr. Umihanić expressed his gratitude to Vice President Lendo for his interest in the work of the University Clinical Center Tuzla. He provided an overview of the Center’s organizational structure, key ongoing projects, strategic plans, and recent financial investments.
Special emphasis was placed on the continuous investment in medical equipment, which—thanks to the support of the Government of Tuzla Canton—has exceeded 50 million convertible marks. The discussions also highlighted the institution’s strong commitment to the professional development and education of healthcare staff, with the goal of ensuring the provision of modern, high-quality healthcare services to patients across Tuzla Canton.
During the meeting, Director Umihanić also emphasized the importance of resolving the legal and institutional status of the University Clinical Center Tuzla. He highlighted the need to finalize an agreement on the management and ownership rights of the institution—an issue that should be addressed through collaboration between the working groups of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Tuzla Canton. In this context, he requested institutional support from Vice President Refik Lendo.
Vice President Lendo expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and commended the accomplishments of the University Clinical Center Tuzla. He affirmed his commitment to supporting efforts aimed at further strengthening the healthcare system and addressing key outstanding issues that are essential for the stable and efficient operation of this institution, which holds significant importance for the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
