The Fifth Symposium on Lung Diseases with international participation was opened today in the presence of numerous guests. The organizer of the symposium is the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases, University Clinical Center Tuzla, with the support of the Tuzla Canton Medical Chamber and under auspices of the Tuzla Canton Government.
This symposium is for pneumo physiologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, radiologists, pediatricians and doctors from primary care who will share recent experiences and knowledge in the field of lung diseases. During the opening ceremony Ass. Prof. Suvad Dedić addressed the guests on behalf of the Organizing Committee and expressed his gratitude to the management and the Board of Directors of the University Clinical Center Tuzla for providing consistent support for training and professional education.
“Eminent experts from Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina will cover an array of topics in their presentations during the symposium. The Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases had conducted an analysis of results obtained from 7150 patients, which indicate that the incidence of certain diseases such is TB is in decline, while there is the increase incidence rate of lung cancer and diseases caused by environmental pollution.”
Medical director of the University Clinical center Tuzla Prof. Dr. Fahrija Skokić and president of the Board of Directors Ass. Prof. Munevera Bećarević also delivered an opening address to welcome all participants of the symposium.
The symposium was then formally declared open by Minister of Health of the Tuzla Canton Government, Dr. Bahrudin Hadžiefendić.
