As part of activities to mark the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics, University Clinical Center Tuzla hosted a press briefing today. During a press briefing Prof. Dr. Dženita Ljuca, head of the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics reviewed numerous activities conducted around the occasion of the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week that started earlier in January this year.
Prof. Dr. Ljuca also spoke about the ongoing cancer prevention activities and said that the students of the Medical faculty together with health professionals from the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics organized a special lecture program for students of other faculties the University of Tuzla. She also announced that in the context of highlighting physical activity in the global fight against cancer “Sport against Cancer”an hour of free fitness class is to be held during the evening hours in the University Sport Center. The aim of this activities is to draw public attention to a heavy burden of cervical cancer.
“I also would like to announce that we’ll hand out carnations and T-shirts with our logo “Stop Cervical Cancer” to the female participants during our fitness class. These activities aims to connect youth and knowledge, which make a winning combination.” said Prof. Ljuca and thanked to the doctors, nurses and other health professionals from the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics for a dedicated involvement in activities for prevention of this serious disease.
