On Friday, the Medical Chamber and the Chamber of Health Care Professionals of the Tuzla Canton hosted the symposium entitled “Communication in health care”. The symposium was aimed for doctors and health care professionals, but also for health care law counselors and other occupational groups in health care system. The aim of this symposium is to show that learning and practicing good communication skills has been considered extremely important for medical practitioners. This symposium focused on the theme related to assertiveness, disorders of interpersonal relations in the team and managing communication in stressful situation with patients.
On the occasion, the president of the organizing committee of the symposium Prof. Dr. Haris Huseinagić said that the aim of the organizer was to point out to the importance and the manner of effective doctor- patient communication skills but also doctors’ interpersonal communication skills, because the ability to communicate effectively is a core competency for medical practitioners and essential for healthcare system.
Ass. Prof. Munevera Bećarević, the president of the Medical Chamber commission for education declared the symposium officially open and said that communication skills as a subject should be included in the faculty teaching curriculum.
