In a solemn ceremony today the Clinic for Children’s Diseases, University Clinical Center Tuzla has opened an Outpatient Clinic for Hematology and Oncology.
Reconstruction and adaptation works in the existing facility were jointly carried out by the Association” Heart for Children Suffering from Cancer”, Medical Park Hospitals Group from Turkey, and the University Clinical Center Tuzla.
According to Ass. Prof. Edin Husarić, the value of this project is about 30 000 BAM.
“With this project the Clinic for Children’s Diseases will offer a truly integrated medical practice for preventing, detecting, treating and managing of cancer in children.” he said. Ass. Prof. Husarić also pointed out that annually about 55 new cases are being detected in the Federation of BiH. Of that number, one third of all newly- discovered cases are from the Tuzla Canton.
Throughout his speech at the opening ceremony Fikret Kubat, the director of the Association” Heart for Children Suffering from Cancer” said that this was one of a series projects that this Association have already had with the Clinical Center Tuzla. The main goal of the project of reconstruction and equipping of an outpatient clinic for hematology and oncology was to adjust the quality of space and environment to the needs of children suffering from cancer.
Director of Clinical Center Tuzla Prof. Dr. Nešad Hotić in his speech at the opening said that in a project completed one year ago was intensively worked on a new medical professionals recruitment and new equipment procurement for the Clinic for Children’s Diseases. The present intensive care unit setup is with ten ventilators and eight incubators. Also, we have opened a new operating room for pediatric surgeries. We hope that the project of complete reconstruction of the Clinic for Children’s Diseases will be finished in 2019.” said Prof. Dr. Hotić
