The Clinic for Invasive Cardiology, University Clinical Center Tuzla has recently opened a new cardiac catheterization laboratory for advanced diagnostic and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
The new cath lab is equipped with state- of- the- art angiography suite, and it is prepared to provide immediate intervention in severe and emergency- level cardiac patients. Moreover, modern medical technology will significantly reduce the amount of scattered radiation during interventions, which will consequently reduce the total radiation risk for patients and staff.
“With the opening of a new cath lab, we will be providing a wider scope of cardiac services for our patients, especially in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Given that the number of acute cardiac procedures (STEMI) performed at the Clinic for Invasive Cardiology is so high, opening of a new facility will provide the treatment of even bigger number of patients with cardiovascular diseases.” said Ass. Prof. Mugdim Bajrić, MD, head of the clinic.
The clinic annually provides more than 2100 diagnostic and therapeutical procedures related to the treatment of coronary artery disease including heart rhythm disorders.
